XMedCon is a Medical Image Conversion project released under the (L)GPL licence. It includes the full C-source code of the library, a versatile command-line utility, and a user-friendly graphical front-end using the Gtk toolkit. XMedCon also enables users to read unsupported files without compression, print pixel values, and extract/reorder/reslice study images. Furthermore, it can export images as PNG or annimated GIF for desktop applications, and its library can be used as a framework.
